Other Leishmania species infecting in dogs: zoonotic and clinical significance

Dr. Filipe Dantas-Torres is a veterinarian and a public health researcher at Instituto Aggeu Magalhães (Fiocruz) in Recife, Brazil. He is a Veterinary Specialist in Parasitology (Dipl. EVPC) and holds a master’s degree in public health, a PhD in Public Health, and a PhD in Animal Health and Zoonoses. He is the Chair of the Tropical Council for Companion Animal Parasites (TroCCAP) and Editor-in-Chief of Parasites and Vectors. He is part of the Executive Committee the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP) and a member of the Brasileish. His main research interests include leishmaniasis, dirofilariosis and other vector-borne diseases.
